Rapid Fire Book Tag
I absolutely love tags, especially bookish ones! I recently did one on my stories on instagram, and it was so much fun not only to do but to see what other people’s answers were. I really wanted to do one on this blog, but wanted it to be the absolute perfect one! I found one called the Rapid Fire Book Tag created by Girl Reading, who did it in a video on YouTube.
I had so much fun answering these questions, and actually learned a few things about myself in the process – lol!
I tag @escape2fiction, @alynn98, @evelynreads1, and anyone else who wants to do it! Please tag me so I can see your post – if you end up doing it, no pressure :p
Rapid Fire Tag:
E-Book or Physical Book?
As per my last post, I love the physical copies of books so freaking much, and have recently fallen in love with e-books as well, but I have to go with physical copy.
Paperback or Hardback?
Both. Hardback because it’s gorgeous and fun to read while laying in bed. Paperback because it’s so much easier to travel with and read on the go.
Online or In-Store Book Shopping?
In-Store Book Shopping. Nothing will ever ever compare to stepping into your favourite bookstore, the one that carries all your memories from childhood, and browsing through the selections. I cannot wait to do that again!
Trilogies or Series?
This is probably the toughest one to answer… I want to say both because I have read some amazing trilogies in the past, but I think series is my final answer. I tend to get very invested in the characters and their world, that needing more than three books is usually the way it is for me. Some of my favourite books stem from series rather than trilogies.
Heroes or Villains?
Villians 😈 I just find them more interesting to read about (I don’t know what that says about me). I’ve always loved a good villian origin story.
A Book You Want Everyone To Read?
On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta. It is such a beautiful story of love and loss and family. It has the intrigue, mystery, romance, and spunk that delivers such intricate characters but an even better plot. Seriously, if you haven’t read it, do it!

Recommend An Underrated Book?
I’m not sure if this is underrated, but Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge. I just haven’t heard that many things about it when it was published and even after. If you love fairytale retellings, this one is by far one of the best Beauty and the Beast retellings I have ever read. The main character Nyx embodies everything a main female lead should be. The story was so cleverly told and the twists were endless.

The Last Book You Finished?
Woven in Moonlight by Isabel Ibañez. Will be posting a review on it later this month!

Last Book You Bought?
The last two books in The Darker Shade of Magic Trilogy – A Gathering of Shadows and A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab.
Weirdest Thing You’ve Used As A Bookmark?
On my honeymoon, I was reading on the beach when I realized I forgot my bookmark. I am against dog-tagging my books, I literally feel like I am hurting my books by doing that lool, so instead I was looking for something else to use, when my husband picks up this odd looking leaf and hands it to me. It was so pretty, and did the job, but now I use it constantly as a bookmark instead of my many other ones!
Used Books: Yes or No?
YES! As someone who grew up going to the library constantly, I think used books are great! It doesn’t matter if a book is old or new, as long as you’re reading and enjoy the story! That being said – don’t download books illegally please… it takes away from the hard work that authors go through to get that story you love out into the world. Go to a library or a used bookstore and get them at a cheaper price!
Top Three Favourite Genres?
Fantasy, Contemporary, and Mystery
Borrow or Buy?
Either. I love to have my own book for my personal collection, but sometimes borrowing a book is better when it comes to being introduced to a new author or genre.
Characters or Plot?
Characters. I realized I fall immensely in love with amazingly written characters. To me, characters pivot the plot and make it what it is.
Long or Short Books?
Long books!
Long or Short Chapters?
Either.
Name The First Three Books You Think Of…
So This is Love by Elizabeth Lim (I recently added it to my TBR)
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab (I am currently reading)
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (I am constantly thinking of the HP Series, but this specific book is due to me currently rewatching the entire series with the hubs)
Books That Makes You Laugh or Cry?
Both! I love books that make me feel any emotion at all… those are usually the ones that live within me for a long long time!
Our World or Fictional Worlds?
Fictional Worlds all the way!!
Audiobooks: Yes or No?
Not sure… the only time I ever listened to an audiobook was Tyler Oakley’s book titled Binge that was read by Tyler himself. I would listen to it on the car ride to and from work a couple years ago. I haven’t experienced reading fiction via audiobook before so unsure if I would like it as much as I liked listening to non-fiction books.
Do You Ever Judge a Book by its Cover?
Sadly yes… but I am getting better at not doing that. I am drawn to creative and beautiful looking covers, but 9/10 times I pick up a book to read the synopsis regardless of the cover.
Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?
I have loved Book to Movie when they do it well as per Hunger Games, but I am also into TV Adaptations as it allows the book to be full-fledged and details tend not to be missed when given more episodes and seasons.
A Movie or TV-Show You Preferred to its Book?
I loved The Hunger Games: Catching Fire movie a lot more than the book. This was the first and only time that this has ever happened and it blew my mind, usually the books are way way better.
Series or Standalones?
Series!
That’s it! Ahhh, I hope you enjoy reading this and please if anyone decided to do it, tag me so I can see your answers!
