October Round-Up + Mini Reviews
π HAPPY ALL HALLOWS EVE!! π
Halloween has a very very special place in my heart. It is really the basis of my entire book and series that I hope one day to share with the world. That being said, October is one of my favourite months of all, mostly because it’s where I do my most reading because I just love all the Autumn weather and vibes. It’s my true element. This October was no different! From some amazing releases, to re-reading some classics, and to finally picking up more books of the TBR pile. Here are the books I devoured this month!
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E Schwab

Honestly, I have never read a book so quickly. It was intriguing and gripping and so heart wrenching at times. I don’t think I have ever been put into a person’s shoes like I have with Addie. Victoria did an incredible job and knowing (through insta stalking her after devouring this gorgeous story) that this book was one she worked so hard on, I can say that her hard work has definitely paid off. From characters, to the time jumps in chapters, to the overall plot… beautiful story telling.
Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyer

Okay… I was that die-hard Twilight fan who was absolutely team Edward… so this book brought me BACK to those times. Funnily enough, I have read this before or at least a little of it when it was first put online by Miss. Stephanie Meyer. It was a nostalgic and great read. A better insight on all those moments when all I wanted to know was what the hell is going on in Edward’s head. Not gonna lie, I may have rewatched the first movie after reading this and yes I did make more fun at it than ever before, especially those cringe moments, but would still rewatch it in a heartbeat!
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

I think I have officially read this book three times, this being my third re-read. This is one of those books I wish I could go back and read for the first time ever. Incredible writing, story, style, plot… overall a fantastic book and series and if you haven’t read it… I have no clue what you’re waiting for. DO IT! You will not regret it! If you need any more convincing, just type Sarah J Maas Throne of Glass onto YouTube and you’ll be hooked within the first review you watch!
Edgar Allan Poe’s Complete Poetical Works

My favourite read this time of year. It is a collection of his short stories and poems that will sure put you in the Halloween and spooky spirit. I mentioned this before but my favourite story is called The Raven. If anyone has read Edgar Allan Poe’s work, they know he has a way of reaching right into you and pulling out that fear.
