The Autumnal Bookish Tag
I absolutely love doing bookish tags as much as I love reading everyone else’s answers. With autumn being my favourite season, it comes as no surprise that I love autumnal inspired bookish tags more than anything else.
Also no surprise I did one previously: The Cosy Autumn Book Tag
But since then, it has been two long years, and I wanted to do another one except this one is a little different. I saw so many wonderful book tags that I wanted to try, but there were so many good ones I couldn’t decide, so I did a combination of a few.
So here is my version of this book tag and thank you to everyone who has ever created a book tag inspired by whatever season, because I adore seeing them!
The Autumnal Bookish Tag
1. Autumnal Candle to Light Whilst Reading:

This was a tough one as I am a candle fiend and fully stocked with different candles from a variety of places that have hints of pumpkin, cinnamon, fresh apple pie, and woodsy smells. My ultimate fav places to pick up candles is Bath & Body Works and Homesense.
I cannot pick just one, so I narrowed it down to my top 2:
Autumn Day by Bath & Body Works
Pumpkin Pecan Waffles by Bath & Body Works
2. Favourite Genre to Read During the Season:

YA or Adult Fantasy would be my favourite to read, not only all-year round, but specifically in Autumn. The magic, the world-building, the mystical elements all get me in the festive mood this season.
3. Seasonal Drink of Choice to Sip Whilst Flipping Through the Pages:

It’s a toss up between a pumpkin spice latte and a chai tea latte. The rich warmth from the two drinks just transports me to the woods covered in oranges, reds, and yellows, and a brisk air that I can’t get enough of.
And before you come for me, yes I love PSL. If you don’t… try it again, trust me it is sooo yummy!
Also – how freaking cute is that mug!?
4. Your Coziest Place to Read:

My current favourite and the absolute coziest place to read is my little reading nook.
My wonderful husband built it for me, and now it’s where I spend most of my evenings curled with a good book, ignoring him π – poor guy.
5. Anticipated Book Releases of the Season:
I have so many, but I think my top 3 most anticipated are:
The Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber (which I devoured in one sittng and wrote a book review on it: )
As Long As the Lemon Trees Grow by Zoulfa
Silver In the Mist by Emily Victoria

6. Favourite Book Villain:

I love this question soooo much because I have such a deep admiration for morally gray character. They just seem so much more real to me and keep me pulled into the story with each chapter.
As you can see quite a theme with me answering these questions, I cannot pick just one but I did try very hard and narrowed it down to … Aaron Warner from Shatter Me.
So I didn’t actually finish this series, the last two books are on my TBR… but I have read enough to know how much I love to hate Warner. He is definitely up there with those characters who you can’t help but wonder about their true intentions and how cruel they can actually be.
7. Bookish Crew/Cast of Characters You Would Spend Halloween With:

This is an easy one. The Ketterdam crew from Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I think it would be the most epic and hilarious night but also with me terrified the whole time because they want to pull some stunt that will set my anxiety off.
Also – I would be close to Kaz the whole time, which is an incredible plus!
8. Favourite book-to-movie that reminds you of Autumn:

Obvs Harry Potter and the Philosopher of Stone for this one. I watch it all-year around but I get all the autumnal feels when it’s on around September/October time.
9. Book World You Would Visit During the Season:

Probably Emberfall from A Curse so Dark and Lonely by Bridgid Kremmerer.
Partly because it is always autumn there, but also because it sounds like such a wonderful kingdom (despite the fact that their prince is cursed and turns into a beast) buuuut, I think before that happens, the scenery and the social life is exquisite.
10. Book Cover with Autumn Vibes

Forest of Souls by Lori M. Lee is by far one of the prettiest covers out there that reminds me so much of autumn. It’s giving Halloween vibes, dark forest, autumn night vibes.
And that’s the Autumnal Bookish Tag!
I would love to see your answers, so tag me if you complete the questions too!
I hope this autumn season is the best one yet!
Also – how many times did I say autumn in this post alone??
