Book I Want to Read in February 2022
Happy February! 💕 I don’t know if it’s the fact that I decided not to put any pressure on myself this year when it came to the things I love like reading and blogging OR if it’s the fact that it has been blistering cold that all I want to do is be cozy inside with a book… OR even if it’s the fact that there are just too many good reads out these days, but whatever the reason, I have been reading every single day without fail and I am loving it! While January was looong and fairly bleak, the whole month felt anything but because of the reading…

Books I Want to Read in November 2022
How has November crept up on us? I swear my concept of time is either really bad, or there is some cosmic mercury retrograde type of voodoo that is making me feel like the days are flying by. Although, the other day I did feel like the start of 2021 felt so long ago… maybe it is me? Either way, I am sooo excited for the books I have decided to read this month. Some all brand new released that I have been waiting to get my hands on and some are books that I have put on previous TBRs and never got to them. Here is my November TBR:…

Welcome to Mariam’s Bookmark + September TBR
Hi Everyone! I am almost too excited to be writing this, I actually needed to take a few breaks just writing the title!! Welcome to Mariam’s Bookmark! If you’ve been here a while, you know this blog operated under a different name – Realm of Bookish Beauty. While I loved that name and the entire blog as a whole, I found myself caught up in life, dealing with my mental health, and so many other things that kept me from really doing what I love – reading books and writing about it! I decided to change a few things, develop new habits, approach my mental health with positivity, and seeking…

Review – The Lost Dreamer by Lizz Huerta
I am so excited for my first book club related review! As you may know, I created a book club along some amazing women titled “Fiction Addiction”. We have read about 3 books so for, and it’s my lucky turn to discuss the March book club pick. The Lost Dreamer was a lovely story. It was a bit slow paced for my liking but overall it had amazing potential and incredible characters. It was inspired by Mesoamerica which was very interesting to read about! I would recommend it for those who are interested in intricate worlds but also slow reads or plots that take a while to really dive into.…

This post has been long overdue. I am so so excited to write this review because the first book I ever reviewed on this blog is Serpent & Dove by the wonderful Shelby Mauhrin, the first book in this series!!! I don’t know where to begin with talking about this book, so I’ll…

Review – Love is a Revolution by Renée Watson
I’ve found that the books I end up truly truly loving are the ones I cannot stop thinking about days after I have finished reading them. This is one of those books. Here is the glorious cover and synopsis before I get into my slightly spoilery (but not really) review! – When Nala Robertson reluctantly agrees to attend an open mic night for her cousin-sister-friend Imani’s birthday, she finds herself falling in instant love with Tye Brown, the MC. He’s perfect, except . . . Tye is an activist and is spending the summer putting on events for the community when Nala would rather watch movies and try out the…
