Writing Journey | Overcoming Fear, Self-Doubt and Failures
Hii! I know, crazy I am posting this type of blog post on this lovely Monday. I just did a quick check – the last time I wrote a journal entry was September 2022… 9 months ago! I truly wish I could say in those 9 months, I wrote an amazing first draft that I am now editing away with the intention to query soon to hopefully have my book published… but that would be a HUGE lie. The excitement I have when opening up a fresh blog post knowing full well I will be diving into a writing update was long gone. I would back out, get too scared…

Books I Want to Read in November 2022
How has November crept up on us? I swear my concept of time is either really bad, or there is some cosmic mercury retrograde type of voodoo that is making me feel like the days are flying by. Although, the other day I did feel like the start of 2021 felt so long ago… maybe it is me? Either way, I am sooo excited for the books I have decided to read this month. Some all brand new released that I have been waiting to get my hands on and some are books that I have put on previous TBRs and never got to them. Here is my November TBR:…

Writing Journey| Big Updates, New Outlook, and Inspo for Book 1
September 5th 2022 7:03 am Hi Everyone and Happy Monday! Firstly, I wanted to thank everyone for all the encouragement, love, and such nice words on my new and improved blog. It was so daunting to hit publish on the site and the first blog post back, but the kindness I received reminded me why I love the reading community so much! I am also very excited to be jumping back into writing and documenting the progress, the fears, and the wins. If you’re new and don’t really know what the ‘writing’ section of my blog is or if you’ve always been here and haven’t seen one of these posts…

Review – Blood & Honey by Shelby Mahurin
Eeeeeeeepppp! I seriously missed this blog and everyone here sooooo freaking much! A lot has happened! I officially moved house, I may have started a new job, and I have been eating my feelings – there is a whole other post on this coming soon – buuuttt… I am back and ready to blog my heart out!! This post has been long overdue. I am so so excited to write this review because the first book I ever reviewed on this blog is Serpent & Dove by the wonderful Shelby Mauhrin, the first book in this series!!! I don’t know where to begin with talking about this book, so I’ll…

Review – Love is a Revolution by Renée Watson
I’ve found that the books I end up truly truly loving are the ones I cannot stop thinking about days after I have finished reading them. This is one of those books. Here is the glorious cover and synopsis before I get into my slightly spoilery (but not really) review! – When Nala Robertson reluctantly agrees to attend an open mic night for her cousin-sister-friend Imani’s birthday, she finds herself falling in instant love with Tye Brown, the MC. He’s perfect, except . . . Tye is an activist and is spending the summer putting on events for the community when Nala would rather watch movies and try out the…

Goodbye 2020 (Finally!) & New Years Thoughts
I am much later in posting this than I would have liked, but better late than never! Firstly, Happy New Year!!!! Secondly, please tell me I am not alone in that weird space between the last year and this year, where you want to be motivated but somehow you cannot find that motivation. Since the turn of the year, I have been feeling the worst I think I have ever felt. I have been so low energy, unmotivated, and all I want to do is lay on the couch and eat all the greasy food and watch The Office on repeat. The reason this post is so late is because…
