Book I Want to Read in February 2022
Happy February! 💕 I don’t know if it’s the fact that I decided not to put any pressure on myself this year when it came to the things I love like reading and blogging OR if it’s the fact that it has been blistering cold that all I want to do is be cozy inside with a book… OR even if it’s the fact that there are just too many good reads out these days, but whatever the reason, I have been reading every single day without fail and I am loving it! While January was looong and fairly bleak, the whole month felt anything but because of the reading…

Book Review – As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow by Zoulfa Katouh
I don’t even know where to begin with this one… Despite me finishing the book months ago, I genuinely needed all this time to process the weight of this book and how much I freakin’ loved it. Beyond being able to relate to bits of it (coming from immigrant parents who fled a war, faith, and language)… I was still in absolute awe at how Zoulfa, the author, managed to really grasp the terrors of war beyond the physical, to the mental and spiritual as well. It left me haunted every single time I put the book down to catch my breath. I had several moments when the tears wouldn’t…

New Year, Same Bookish Blog
I woke up this morning to a newfound appreciation for being completely chilled. To be fair, in my part of the world, the cold has gotten to bone-crushing levels so it’s hard not cave in and force yourself to be ok with it. But beyond that, I spent the last few days in a slump wondering when that new-year motivation is going to kick in. Then, I got to thinking about how much pressure some of us seem to be under, especially when it comes to the turn of a new year. I have been guilty of posting the annual ‘new year, new me, new goals and accomplishments to work…

Books I Want to Read in November 2022
How has November crept up on us? I swear my concept of time is either really bad, or there is some cosmic mercury retrograde type of voodoo that is making me feel like the days are flying by. Although, the other day I did feel like the start of 2021 felt so long ago… maybe it is me? Either way, I am sooo excited for the books I have decided to read this month. Some all brand new released that I have been waiting to get my hands on and some are books that I have put on previous TBRs and never got to them. Here is my November TBR:…

My Favourite YA Book Villains
When thinking of your all-time favourite characters in stories, most people would say the heroine, or one of the array of colourful but overall ‘good’ members from the new-found family friend group, or even the furry/mystical being that dazzles us with being fierce or cute. Mine have always been villains. Even the most retched ones that make me hate their guts and want to curse their names. I think it’s their ability to draw out that emotion that makes me love ’em. The morally grey character has always been one that I am drawn towards. While reading is an absolutely wonderful escape, it also can mirror a realness in ourselves…

Autumn Reading Essentials
Now you know I love a themed/season-curated blog post, so I couldn’t just give you a normal reading essentials list, but an autumnal one. Because Autumn is the best and the coziest reading essentials will not be the same if not specified that they are autumn-esque… ofc! These are some of my must-have items that make the reading experience so much better and gives me all the cosy vibes. 1. Fall Candle This one is a must for me. I love to create the coziest mood when reading and candles do just that. Especially the scents that come out around this time are rich, warm, and just the amazing! 2.…
