Writing Journey | Overcoming Fear, Self-Doubt and Failures
Hii! I know, crazy I am posting this type of blog post on this lovely Monday. I just did a quick check – the last time I wrote a journal entry was September 2022… 9 months ago! I truly wish I could say in those 9 months, I wrote an amazing first draft that I am now editing away with the intention to query soon to hopefully have my book published… but that would be a HUGE lie. The excitement I have when opening up a fresh blog post knowing full well I will be diving into a writing update was long gone. I would back out, get too scared…

Book Review – As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow by Zoulfa Katouh
I don’t even know where to begin with this one… Despite me finishing the book months ago, I genuinely needed all this time to process the weight of this book and how much I freakin’ loved it. Beyond being able to relate to bits of it (coming from immigrant parents who fled a war, faith, and language)… I was still in absolute awe at how Zoulfa, the author, managed to really grasp the terrors of war beyond the physical, to the mental and spiritual as well. It left me haunted every single time I put the book down to catch my breath. I had several moments when the tears wouldn’t…

Review – The Lost Dreamer by Lizz Huerta
I am so excited for my first book club related review! As you may know, I created a book club along some amazing women titled “Fiction Addiction”. We have read about 3 books so for, and it’s my lucky turn to discuss the March book club pick. The Lost Dreamer was a lovely story. It was a bit slow paced for my liking but overall it had amazing potential and incredible characters. It was inspired by Mesoamerica which was very interesting to read about! I would recommend it for those who are interested in intricate worlds but also slow reads or plots that take a while to really dive into.…

I officially moved house, I may have started a new job, and I have been eating my feelings – there is a whole other post on this coming soon – buuuttt… I am back and ready to blog my heart out!! This post has been long overdue. I am so so excited to write this review because the first book I ever reviewed on this blog is Serpent & Dove by the wonderful Shelby Mauhrin, the first book in this series!!! I don’t know where to begin with talking about this book, so I’ll…

January Wrap Up + February TBR
Dry January is finally over and so is the impromptu social media and blogging break I somehow found myself taking. I have missed interacting with everyone! I just spent the last few hours reading through all the posts that were made in January by some of my favourite bloggers and the creativity and reading vibes has been making me smile all day! In my part of the world, we are in a strict COVID-19 lockdown with a curfew. I don’t know why but I have found this second lockdown so much harder to deal with than the first one. Has anyone else found that who’ve had to go under a…

Goodbye 2020 (Finally!) & New Years Thoughts
I am much later in posting this than I would have liked, but better late than never! Firstly, Happy New Year!!!! Secondly, please tell me I am not alone in that weird space between the last year and this year, where you want to be motivated but somehow you cannot find that motivation. Since the turn of the year, I have been feeling the worst I think I have ever felt. I have been so low energy, unmotivated, and all I want to do is lay on the couch and eat all the greasy food and watch The Office on repeat. The reason this post is so late is because…
